There are a huge number of PADI specialties you can choose from to develop your skills as a diver. The specialty courses are a great deal of fun and they give you the chance to specialise in the areas of diving that you really enjoy.
On offer at Seaventures are the following specialties:
- AWARE Fish ID - Dives are much more fun when you know what you are seeing a little about their behaviour. This course teaches you the basics of how to identify fish by their shapes, markings and certain behaviours.
- Boat Diver - every dive centre around the world is different and the types of boats used can vary greatly. It gives you much more confidence if you go on a boat dive and you know what to expect of the boat and how to manage yourself and your kit on it.
- Cavern Diver - ideal for those of you who want to dive Turtle Tomb in Sipadan! This course is your introduction to cavern diving and will give you thorough knowledge of the basics of cavern diving.
- Coral Reef Conservation Diver - Ever wondered about how you can help to conserve the coral reefs? Learn how to do your bit with this course and you will be a valuable addition to any dive team around the world. Conservation is vital and this is one of our most topical specialty courses.
- Deep Diver - ever wondered what it feels like to go to 40 metres? If you take the Deep Diver specialty you are qualified to go deeper and you can feel confident that you have done this with an instructor first time around so you know exactly what to expect! Share the deep with others and go with a buddy to 40 metres!
- Digital Underwater Photographer - Snapping away is all very well but after a while the same old green pictures get a little boring. Capture what you are really seeing down there and learn how to use your camera properly. You can use one of our rental cameras for free on this course and put your skills to the test.
- Diver Propulsion Vehicle - Diving isn't just about getting from A to B but if there is open water and a chance to pick up some speed - the DPV course is ideal! Learn how to use the vehicles underwater and do something a little different with your diving!
- Drift Diver - Sipadan is an area with current at times and quite often, wherever you go in the world you will be exposed to currents if you want to see the best things! Learn how to cope in the currents and how to control your buoyancy and you will be confident to dive anywhere with current!
- Enriched (NITROX) Air Diver - NITROX is one of our most popular courses and comes in very useful if you are doing a lot of diving with longer dive times. Ideal for those of you who want to get the most out of your dive time. DIVE DIVE DIVE!
- Equipment Specialist - It is always helpful to know how to service and fix the small problems on your equipment and this course will teach you the basics that you need to know to understand your equipment and its needs!
- Multilevel Diver - learn how to plan your dives that extend your bottom time by crediting you for slower nitrogen absorption when you ascend to a shallower depth. This course is relevant even you use a dive computer.
- National Geographic Diver - learn to fine tune your buoyancy and then set off on your exploration project, plant life survey, study of water temperature this project is your chance to think, observe and document like those who dive for science and discovery.
- Night Diver - the underwater world is an entirely different place at night, you will observe behaviours and learn to navigate your way around in the dark. A very popular course due to the sheer abundance of life that comes out to feed and hunt in the security of the darkness.
- Peak Performance Buoyancy - fine tune your buoyancy and learn to navigate your way through swim throughs and over tricky reefs and wall dives. Become one of those divers that simply glides through the water, moving effortlessly and using very little air.
- Project AWARE Specialist - learn about some of the most pressing problems facing these vulnerable environments and everyday actions you can take to help conserve them. It is an informative and interesting specialty and most importantly, you will learn how to make a difference.
- Search and Recovery Diver - have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost treasure? The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty Course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface.
- Underwater Naturalist - look closer to see more on your next dive. Look for symbioses, predator/prey and other relationships between aquatic plant and animal life. Learn not just what fish and animals are, but how they interact with each other and the environment.
- Underwater Navigator - be the diver everyone wants to follow and make your sense of direction legendary with this course! Finding your way is not a matter of luck and when everyone is buzzing about a new reef or checking out a shipwreck, you will be the one they turn to when it's time to go home as you know the way back to the boat!
- Wreck Diver - whether sunk on purpose as an artificial reed or the result of a mishap, wrecks open fascinating windows to the past. Most divers find wrecked ships, airplanes and even automobiles nearly irresistible because they are intriguing to explore, exciting avenues of discovery, and usually teeming with aquatic life. The PADI wreck diver course teaches you the ins and outs of rewarding, responsible wreck diving.
